This weekend was decent. Friday night, everyone in the house went to see New Moon, cause it was playing for free at the Union. As I expected, this movie had much more angst than the last one. That didn't mean it wasn't lol-worthy though. The over dramatics were laughable. I never want RPattz to show off his pasty vampire abs again, thnx. I decided that I liked movie!Jacob more than book!Jacob (though I'm sure he'll be just as douchy as book!Jacob was in the later movies). I felt sorry for him. Also, Alice is still my vampire girlfriend. She's such a cutie.

Saw some friends this weekend, too. We went over to Alie's apartment on Saturday night for a little get together, where we played some games and watched some movies. Then, Jamie crashed on our couch Saturday night because she happened to be in Bloomington for grad school related stuff. We all went out to lunch the next day. Afterwards, in what was probably the highlight of my weekend, we stopped by Jamie's friend Kyle's house to play with his puppies!  Kyle and his boyfriend have a sweet cocker spaniel and a rather excitable boston terrier. I miss having a dog so much while I'm at school.

On a different note, this weekend I decided on my new cosplay for ACen. I'd been waffling between choosing Joker from Kuroshitsuji, Vincent from Pandora Hearts, or Chane from Baccano. I was leaning towards Chane because her costume will be easier and less expensive for me to make. Then, Friday night, I had a dream that I was Chane (and I was marrying Claire, win). I figured this was my subconscious telling me to go for the Chane cosplay, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm excited and wondering if I can't poke one of my friends into cosplaying Claire.

Also, started watching Durarara this weekend! I've been enjoying it a lot so far, even if I am still trying to figure out exactly where the series is going and what it's doing. It's from the creator of Baccano, so I have every confidence that it's going to turn out completely awesome! It makes me miss Japan, especially Ikebukuro, something desperate though. The series is set in Ikebukuro, and as I watch it I can sometimes recognize exactly where the characters are. They walk by a lot of the same places we did everytime we would go to Ikebukuro. It makes me want to go back there.

Midterms start this week. I've got two coming up and a third take-home midterm due a week from today. I'm unhappy about the take-home midterm though. It's for my Gender Studies class. It's supposed to be a 8-10 page essay. I think it's unfair of my professor to expect us to write something that long and that important in a week's time. We were only assigned it today! It would be okay if we had a longer time period to work on it, or that was one of the only things I had to do this week, but it's not. Ugh. I'm already looking forward to spring break and it's still about three weeks away.

[Error: unknown template qotd]WTF. I don't even have an answer for this question because I hate baseball. I just think this is hilarious.

Had a fun time with my friends today. This afternoon we set up a giant makeshift slip n' slide down one of the hills in Alyssa's backyard. When I say makeshift I really mean a giant roll of plastic, which we then hosed up and soaped down. It was awesome! It had been forever since I'd been on a slip 'n slide. Afterwards a bunch of us crammed into the shower all at once to wash off all the soap. We were still partially clothed though, lol.

Today I realized that I have accidentally managed to get DJ addicted to Twilight. I showed him the movie last week because he hadn't seen it. He then asked me to lend him my copy of the book yesterday. He read a good 300 pages of the book last night. And now he wants Edward Cullen all to himself. Lol. Oops. XD

Yesterday was fun!

First of all, we went to see Twilight. Hahaha. It was awesome! It was actually better than I had expected it to be (I went in with very low expectations). And the lolz! Some of it was so cheesy! During several serious scenes in the movie we burst out laughing, and we weren't the only ones laughing either. There were other times when I actually facepalmed. It was beautiful. I give RPattz so much credit for doing this movie. He is my hero. I think that my favorite part of the movie was the vampire baseball. I also really like the actress that they got to play Alice.

Last night, the GV (my dorm) had a dance party. I went with [livejournal.com profile] yangwarrior and Greta. And Jamie gave us glowsticks! It was a fun time, especially because it had been quite some time since I'd last been dancing. I love dancing, and wish I got to do it more often.

Things are back to normal.

So, on Friday night, I went with Meghan to pick up a copy of Breaking Dawn. Didn't really have time to read it until Sunday though.

On Saturday I went with Meghan and her family to Six Flags. It's been a couple years since I've last been there, so it was fun to go. At one pint during the day, we ended up waiting in line for three hours to go on the new Dark Knight ride. The ride was fun, but not worth a three hour wait. We went on the actual Batman ride at the very end of the day, after it had gotten dark. That was awesome. Batman is my favorite ride.

Been hanging out with DJ (and consequently Sarah and Savannah) for the past couple days. We've been catching up. I hadn't seen him for a few weeks because of his surgery. He's doing much better now though. We've mostly been going out for food and playing board games. Yes, I know it all sounds very exciting, but there's nothing like playing a nice game of Apples to Apples, or Cranium, every once in a while.
