I have mixed feelings about being home. I'm happy to be done with classes and not have to worry about the homework, but I miss my good friends from school. I miss geeking out over random stuff with them, or silly stuff like throwing ideas back and forth about Greta's comic characters. I guess I've really realized that I won't be able to see them all the time anymore. I also miss the fact that I had more independence at school. Being at home isn't all bad though. I get to hang out with DJ quite often, which is great because I missed him terribly. And I really do prefer the general cleanliness levels of my house, which is always much nicer than the townhouse.

I'm also in a bit of a mood right now. I've been filling out IRS forms that I need for JET and nothing is as clear as it should be on these forms. I'm pretty sure the IRS makes them confusing on purpose. Now I have to wait until tomorrow, so I can call the IRS and ask them to explain their stupid forms.

I'm back home for the weekend. Alie and I drove up to Chicago Friday afternoon. Everything's happening on Monday, but we decided to make a weekend out of it. I'm glad that we did because it's nice to have a bit of time to relax at home.

We didn't do much Friday night, but yesterday Alie and I spent time hanging out with DJ. It was good to see my bff again. We got coffee and checked out one of the nearby Borders stores that's going out of business. I picked up a copy of Blameless, by Gail Carriger (which is good because I finally had time to finish reading Changeless this morning and I need to know what happens next). We then went back to my house with the intention of watching movies, but ended up spending more time chatting and then played fashion show to show DJ the outfits that Alie and I are wearing for the Gaga concert. (We may have even got DJ to try on a corset. XD) For dinner, we went out to Tommy Nevin's, where we saw Josh and, briefly, Chris. It was a good time.

Today, it looks like we might be meeting up with Eri, as she's back in America for a month or so. I haven't seen her since I left Japan, so I hope the plans work out!

Tomorrow is the big day! I have my important interview in the city. *crosses fingers* After that, I go back home, change, and Alie and I go to the Lady Gaga concert! It seems like I bought the tickets forever ago, so I'm so excited that the concert date is finally here! I'm actually glad that the concert is on the same day as the interview because it gives me something else to think about, other than being nervous about the interview all the time. Of course, I'm still nervous, but having a distraction helps. Wish me luck! I probably won't have much time to update until next weekend (Wednesday and Thursday are going to be nightmares), but I will eventually report back on everything.

Saturday was an interesting day. After a bit of a fiasco, where the driver of the luggage service and I couldn’t quite communicate, my bags were finally picked up. It was a huge fucking pain in the ass. The rest of the day was better though. [livejournal.com profile] meepalicious and I met up with Lauren in Ikebukuro. We did this so Leslie could move some of her stuff into her tiny new apartment. Then, the three of us went to B:Lily-Rose. I’m super sad that the café appears to be closing at the end of the year. It was such a good time. It was Lauren’s first time there, and I was surprised at how much she liked it. It was fun! We had a random conversation with one of our servers about Hetalia. I also got to talk to two of the other servers about how I didn’t like tomatoes, lol. For whatever reason, the waiters were pretty genki that night. They were super cute. Lauren and Leslie both got cute pictures taken. Afterwards, we went and did some purikura. Leslie and I then had to fricking run back to the station to catch the train, so we could get back to the dorm in time for curfew. We somehow made it back about ten minutes before curfew. We also had some English conversation with a nice drunk old salaryman on the train. Lol.

On Sunday morning, I finished up my last minute cleaning and packing. I spent the rest of the day hanging out with Leslie, until around 2 in the afternoon, when we both went our separate ways. Parting was sad because we've only been around each other constantly this past semester. It's weird to me that I won't see her all the time anymore. I am sure that there will be future opportunities (and cons) for us to meet up though. I took the train to Narita and picked up my luggage. My bags were super heavy, but I managed somehow managed to carry them through the airport. I had to try not to cry as the plane took off and I realized that I really was leaving Japan. The flight was around eleven hours long. I was able to sleep, rather fitfully, through about half of it.

And now I’m home. It’s nice and I’m really happy to see my family again, but I miss being in Japan. I’m definitely going to need to adjust to being in America again. I’m going back to everything I’ve known my whole life, but something feels a bit off about it right now, and it weirds me out. I’ve also found that I need to watch what I’m saying because I’m still slipping Japanese words and phrases into my English conversation. I’m just so used to doing it because that’s how everyone in IES has been talking to each other for the past three and a half months.

I think my sleep schedule is also fucked. I went to bed at 9 PM and woke up at 2 AM. And now it’s 4 in the morning. I’m super hungry, too. I just hope that it won’t take my body too long to adjust to switching time zones again.

Just a quick note to say that I've arrived home safely. I'm not used to being back in America yet. But, the flight was long and I'm super tired, so that's all for now.

I'm home for the summer now. Finals sucked even more than usual. I caught a cold this past week and, of course, the day that I happened to be feeling the worst also happened to be the day that I had my two most difficult finals. It was not fun. I'm still feeling somewhat sniffly.

It's nice to be home, but I'm really going to miss all my friends at school. I won't see most of them for quite some time. A couple of them are graduating. The rest of them I won't see until I get back from Japan in January. At least I'll get to see Greta and Nicole in the fall though, because they'll be in Tokyo with me.

I read today that the release date for the new Cinema Bizarre CD, which was supposed to be released in June, is being postponed until August. This makes me a sad panda. :(

This weekend is also ACen weekend. I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to go this year, but I need to save money for Tokyo.

I am however going to go see Star Trek tonight! It should be awesome.

They're holding early voting on campus right now, so I voted today! Yay! *waves tiny Obama flag*

I'm going home this weekend. I'm happy, because I miss everyone at home. It'll be nice to see them. ^_^

And now to study for my Japanese midterm. I have the written midterm tomorrow, and the oral midterm on Friday. Agh.

Spring break starts tomorrow! I get to go home tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait! I haven't been home since winter break, so it'll be nice to be back.

For those of you who don't know yet, I've decided that I want to cosplay Tieria (his normal outfit, not the pilot suit). I've been thinking about doing a second costume for ACen this year, but I wasn't sure. I decided on Tieria because of my recent Gundam obsession and the fact that the costume should be fairly easy to put together. So, yes. I am excited! XD

I am quite content at the moment. I'm home for break, curled up in my comfy pajamas, with my laptop, while it snows like crazy outside. I'm listening to my new alice nine CD, Alpha, which is all sorts of love. It was one of my presents from my parents, because my birthday was Tuesday (I'm 19 now, yay!). I think all I need now is some hot chocolate. *wanders off to go get some*
