I'm so glad that the hard part of this week is over. I had three tests in three different classes, one of which was Japanese. I don't have anything due tomorrow, so I'm just spending tonight relaxing.

We've started planning for Ohayocon this week and I'm starting to get really excited about it. If everything works out, it's going to be awesome. I'm thinking about cosplay possibilities too, but I'm not sure if I'll have the funds for a new cosplay though. Oh well. It's still a ways away, so it can wait a bit. It's just fun to think about.

Our household is going to be out of town again this weekend. We're going to Ohio to visit Greta's parents and spend the day at the renaissance fair. It should be a fun time! We're going to be leaving as soon as we get out of class tomorrow and coming back Sunday afternoon.

And now I'm going to go eat some yummy popcorn~

Last week was so busy for me. It sucked. I had so many projects and papers, and practically no free time at all. By the end of the week, I felt like I was in some sort of zombified state, just trying to keep going. This week isn't going to be quite as bad, but I still need to finish one group video project. Then, I only need to worry about next week's finals. Only two more weeks of school!

I discovered a very nice thing about living off of campus this past weekend. It was Little 500 weekend (aka the most drunken weekend on IU's campus, centering around our annual bike race, for those of you who don't know what it is) and I could barely tell it was going on. It was so nice and quiet by our place and I was able to spend time just relaxing, like I wanted to.

This weekend we finished watching Sengoku Basara at anime club. Omg, so fucking ridiculous and awesome. I believe our anime club said it best on our Twitter page: "Oh Sengoku Basara. Never has the Japanese war of unification been so bad ass, so gay, and so historically inaccurate ALL AT THE SAME TIME!" And that is why we love it. I know that it's so inaccurate and I don't really care because it's just that much fun to watch. I'm now on the hunt for good Masamune/Yukimura fic because how could I not ship them? Also, Yukimura is cute like a puppy.

Something very interesting that I got to do today was go to the Kinsey Institute. I had a small extra credit assignment that I could do for my Gender Studies class there, so I decided to take advantage of the opportunity. Only certain parts of the Kinsey Institute are open to the public, one of which is the art gallery. I spent the better part of an hour just wondering around, taking everything in. They had some really lovely (and explicit) art on display. I'm glad that I went there.

Lastly, I am typing this up while I am kind of tipsy. Kristi broke out a bottle of hard cider. I only had a small cup, but I guess that it's been a while since I've eaten because it affected me pretty fast. Hopefully, this entry won't contain too many spelling errors. I'm going to double check it.

I'm so happy for the weekend. I always feel so tired out at the end of the week. I'm guessing that has something to do with the sheer amount of time that transportation takes. That, combined with all the busy work our professors have been throwing at us, tires me out.

The next two weeks are going to be a mixture of awesome and me stressing out over school work. Our classes have really hit that point in the semester where they're starting to throw large amounts of work at us. The individual work for each class isn't that bad, but when you combine the work from all the classes it adds up. But, mixed in with all the school work will be some completely awesome times. The 21st through the 24th our study abroad program has a trip to Nagano. We're staying at a Japanese style inn (ryokan) with hot springs (onsen). I'm hoping it will be a fun and somewhat relaxing trip. The 25th is the day I get to go rock out at the V-Rock Festival! I am so super excited about this! Then I have a bunch of school stuff due during the last week of the month. That's going to suck, I'm sure. After that it's Halloween weekend! On Halloween,[personal profile] meepalicious and I are going to go to Saiyuki Festa for Saiyuki fangirl tiemz, and then spend the rest of the day in Harajuku! I'm pretty excited about this as well. Then, on November 1st my Anime and Manga class is going on a field trip to the Ghibli Museum for some Miyazaki time. The Ghibli museum for free! My favorite price.

Today, I'm just going to relax. I might read some more of the Pandora Hearts manga. I started reading it online the other day when I was in my super boring Social Organization class. It seems like it could be somewhat promising. I'll probably try and make plans for tomorrow though because I start driving myself crazy if I spend all weekend doing nothing. It leaves me with too much time to think about things, which normally does not turn out well. Any plans that I do make will have to be relatively inexpensive ones though. I'm trying to save money for the fun stuff coming up in the next couple weeks.

Felt somewhat better last night upon learning that my favorite band, Gazette, will be releasing their new album on July 15th! I was quite excited when I heard the news.

I will now attempt to write my 5 page paper on The Tale of Genji in a timely fashion. This is a process that usually fails miserably.

Thank god, my finals are over! I had to take all three of them today. I studied so much these past few days I felt like my brain was dripping out of my ears.

Saturday, I went out to dinner with everyone from the GV and [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn. It was a fun time. We went to eat at Turkuaz, which has yummy Turkish food. But, on our way to the restaurant, we were getting into Kristi's car and found that someone had knocked both side mirrors off of it. So before we were able to go we had to file a report with the police. It turned out that there were several other cars in the parking lot that had been vandalized by idiotic assholes. Fortunately, we were able to ducktape the mirrors back on, so we were still able to go out to eat.

Tonight the roomie and I watched Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one), which is one of my most favoritest movies. It had been a while since I last watched it, so seeing it made me happy. Greta and [livejournal.com profile] trombonesonmars decided to watch it with us, as well. And while we watched it Greta drew me an awesome fanart of Captain Harlock and Garlock! :D

I get to go home for break Thursday morning. It will be so nice to spend a few weeks at home. I cannot wait.

They're holding early voting on campus right now, so I voted today! Yay! *waves tiny Obama flag*

I'm going home this weekend. I'm happy, because I miss everyone at home. It'll be nice to see them. ^_^

And now to study for my Japanese midterm. I have the written midterm tomorrow, and the oral midterm on Friday. Agh.

This past weekend was interesting.

It started Friday, after classes, when my love life failed. I had been going out on dates with my friend Jared this school year (we dated a bit last year, too). I thought it was going well, but then he called me up to tell me that he doesn't want a relationship right now. Um, that wasn't the message I got from him the last time we hung out, when he was kissing me and cuddling with me. Whatever. I won't say I wasn't disappointed about the way things worked out, but I wasn't crushed either. I was still trying to figure out how compatible Jared and I actually were anyways. Now, I'm free to look for someone better!

Saturday, the Japanese Student Association had their yearly BBQ. The food was yummy. I also got to have yummy food for dinner, because [livejournal.com profile] stellawind and I got Korean food with our friend Minori. I was very pleased that I got to eat so much good food in one day.

Yesterday, there was a thunder storm. A tree in front of the dorm next to ours got hit by lightening! All the fire alarms in the quad then went off because the lightening fried the system. So, we had to stand outside in the pouring rain for probably a good 15 minutes. Really safe, right? Luckily, the rain let up, but we still had to stand around outside for over an hour. [livejournal.com profile] stellawind had been going to cook tempura for dinner, so we had invited [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn over. She arrived and found us waiting around to be let back into the building. We were eventually let back in. And then we had a delicious tempura dinner. No one got hurt, so it was all somewhat amusing, aside from the part where I was cold and wet.

Tonight I must study for the first Japanese test of the year. Eeek.

I have decided on this year's cosplay plans. They were up in the air for a little while; I was thinking of going as either Kanda (from D.Gray-man), or Alie and I were thinking of going as Axel and Roxas (from Kingdom Hearts). It has been decided that I'm going to be Axel, which I am quite pleased about. And Alie is going to be Roxas. Now we just need to commission our costumes, because there's no way in hell I'm trying to sew a pleather Orgy XIII coat. There has also been talk of going to Ohayocon this year, because ACen falls on a rather inconvenient date.

The other night I had a dream that I was out shopping because I needed purple nail polish for my Tieria costume. But, I was unhappy because the only purple nail polish I could find had sparkles in it, and I wanted the nail polish with no sparkles. When I woke up I laughed a lot. I can guarantee that I will not be wearing purple nail polish, if I cosplay Tieria again. Not unless it's fishnets!Tieria.

My aunt is coming home from the hospital today! Yay! I'm going to go visit her tonight.

I'm going back to IU tomorrow. I'm glad to be going back. It's been getting kind of boring around here recently.

I had forgotten how much of a bitch packing for school was. At least I'm nearly done with it. Then comes the extremely fun part of fitting everything in the car. :P

Must go, because I have a hundred little things to do before tomorrow. So busy!
