Unique, amazing, and talented.

I got Gaga's new CD, Born This Way today! I'm in love with it! Been dancing around all afternoon. I think my favorite of the new songs are Schieße, Heavy Metal Lover, and Government Hooker. <3

Listening to the CD has been helping me keep away the post con blues. ACen was amazing this year! I have so much to write about it, but I'm not going to do it today. After that weekend, I need a day to relax and do nothing. The con was a ton of fun, but pretty tiring. I'll try to write about it soon though!

The amount of schoolwork that I've had this week has been a bitch. But, it was made slightly better last night when[livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn showed up out of the blue, and gave me a chocolate milkshake with all of the sprinkles to make me feel better.

And now I finally have time to write about the Lady Gaga concert, which was so amazing!

We are all born superstars~ )

I'm back home for the weekend. Alie and I drove up to Chicago Friday afternoon. Everything's happening on Monday, but we decided to make a weekend out of it. I'm glad that we did because it's nice to have a bit of time to relax at home.

We didn't do much Friday night, but yesterday Alie and I spent time hanging out with DJ. It was good to see my bff again. We got coffee and checked out one of the nearby Borders stores that's going out of business. I picked up a copy of Blameless, by Gail Carriger (which is good because I finally had time to finish reading Changeless this morning and I need to know what happens next). We then went back to my house with the intention of watching movies, but ended up spending more time chatting and then played fashion show to show DJ the outfits that Alie and I are wearing for the Gaga concert. (We may have even got DJ to try on a corset. XD) For dinner, we went out to Tommy Nevin's, where we saw Josh and, briefly, Chris. It was a good time.

Today, it looks like we might be meeting up with Eri, as she's back in America for a month or so. I haven't seen her since I left Japan, so I hope the plans work out!

Tomorrow is the big day! I have my important interview in the city. *crosses fingers* After that, I go back home, change, and Alie and I go to the Lady Gaga concert! It seems like I bought the tickets forever ago, so I'm so excited that the concert date is finally here! I'm actually glad that the concert is on the same day as the interview because it gives me something else to think about, other than being nervous about the interview all the time. Of course, I'm still nervous, but having a distraction helps. Wish me luck! I probably won't have much time to update until next weekend (Wednesday and Thursday are going to be nightmares), but I will eventually report back on everything.

The past two nights have been pretty fun. On Friday night, Alie and I went with [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn and her roommate to see IU's production of The Vagina Monologues. I'd heard a lot about it, but didn't actually know much about it. I enjoyed it though. It made me feel all empowered as a woman. After that we headed over to Uncle E's, where we caught the weekly Friday drag queen show. It was a good time. I especially enjoyed the queen who danced to "Born This Way" and then later to "Bohemian Rhapsody".

It was back to Uncle E's again on Saturday night, this time to watch Zuryvette compete in the Ms.Ter South Central Indiana drag king contest. She didn't win, but we still had a great time. The king who did win did a great job (and he was pretty attractive too). A bunch of other kings and queens performed during the breaks in the contest, too. At one point, while one of the queens was performing a candle caught some papers of fire at the table nearest the stage. Luckily, the queen skillfully walked over an blew it out without breaking a beat. xD

Now that I've waded through part of the piles of Japanese homework that I have, I'm going to relax a bit. I'm going to turn the Grammys on so I can see Gaga perform, while I work on gluing rhinestones to the boots I'm wearing to the Gaga concert. The outfit that I'm going to wear for her concert is starting to come together!

Back from ACross! Despite the tiny size of the con, it was super fun. It was nice to hang out with the DLS and I got to meet some new people, too. I'm still pretty tired and catching up on life, so I'll make a con post in a day or two.

In other awesome news, I was also able to buy tickets for Lady Gaga's Chicago concert over the weekend! It's not until February and I'm already incredibly excited about it! :D

This post contains some introspective fangirling that gets kind of mushy. It's actually kind of embarrassing because I usually try to contain my hardcore fangirling for the proper place and time, so I'm putting this behind a cut.

Embarrassing amounts of love inside. )

I've been listening to this song a lot recently. It's one of Gaga's older unreleased songs. I really love the lyrics and can relate to them. For some reason, it reminds me of my feelings about my time in Japan.

I'm still missing Japan, but I feel better after going to DJ and Elise's Christmas party. It was super fun! We were up so late and I got almost no sleep. Somewhere halfway through the night, most of us ended up in a cuddle pile on the floor. This then turned into a cuddle orgy. There was a lot of giggling, and petting, and awesome out-of-context quotes that occurred. We also decided  that we wished Lady Gaga was in the cuddle orgy with us, because we (we being a bunch of mostly straight girls and gay boys) would all go for that. Eventually we all started spooning. Then, when we decided to try and go to bed, 5 of us ended up spooning in DJ's bed. At various points in the night, I ended up sandwiched between DJ and Joe, then between DJ and Chris, and finally between Joe and Allison. Lol. It was quite nice to be sandwiched in between a bunch of gay boys. I'm super sore today, from being contorted into weird positions, but it was worth it for the cuddle orgy.

I can't believe it's December already. I don't want to think about leaving Japan yet.

I wanted to post this sooner, but this week has been pretty busy (and next week is going to be super busy, too). Monday afternoon, [livejournal.com profile] meepalicious , Greta, Nicole, and I went to Ikebukuro again. This time we were on a mission though. We went and had lunch at B:Lily-Rose, which is a dansou cafe. A dansou cafe is sort of like a type of maid cafe, but much better. Instead of maids, there are attractive women crossdressing as beautiful men, who serve your food. They wore suits and even spoke with deep voices. It was super hot. I also found the concept to be much better than the concept of maid cafes. (Probably because the waiter(ess) didn't call us master, like they supposedly do at maid cafes. The idea of that tends to creep me out a bit.) The food was pretty good, too. I had some mentaiko pasta. I also ordered an alcoholic drink because I couldn't resist. It was called a Rainy Blue because it was (suprise) blue-colored. I'm not completely sure what all was in it, but it was lychee flavored. It was pretty yummy. And on top of everything else, they were playing Lady Gaga music in the backround. That was just the icing on the cake. All in all, I very much enjoyed my time at the cafe. It was a good time. We might be going back for more delicious crossdressing food this weekend because we might be in Ikebukuro anyways.

Also, speaking of Lady Gaga... this song is my new favorite Christmas song. Leslie discovered it a few weeks ago. Nothing says Merry Christmas like some Lady Gaga. "My Christmas tree's delicious", indeed.
