Been a bit of a busy bee this week, but I've finally got some time to update.

Last weekend was quite nice. [livejournal.com profile] stellawind came to visit and we pretty much had a steady stream of friends coming in and out of our house all weekend. Jamie even visited for a bit. There was much delicious food and watching of awesome things (Glam Nation, Inception, A Very Potter Sequel).

A lot of my time was eaten up this week because I had an 8 page paper due in International Business and a speaking exam in Japanese. It's finally done though and I can relax for the rest of the week. I don't even have any class tomorrow because they're doing the speaking exam in Japanese and I've already completed mine!

I've also got a nice start on my Kuranosuke cosplay. I don't think I've mentioned it here yet, but I did end up registering for ACen this year and I'm planning on cosplaying Koibuchi Kuranosuke from Kuragehime. I'll be wearing his outfit from the first episode. I got my awesome curly pink wig in the mail this past weekend and this week I managed to buy the cowboy boots and a purse to go with the outfit. I bought the purple tights a while ago, so now I just need to get the turtleneck, fabric for the shorts, paint for the details on the boots, and supplies for the belt.

This weekend should be fun too! [livejournal.com profile] stellawind will be in town again! This weekend is also Little 500, IU's annual bike race/weekend of drunken revelry. I don't usually bother with it. Our form of celebrating will be going to Uncle E's to watch Zuryvette and Alie perform in the drag competition. Alie won the competition last month, so she'll be there as a performer this month. I'm sure we'll find some other fun things to do, too~

Another fun weekend has come and gone. It started on Friday night, which I was expecting to be pretty boring and low key. Then Zuryvette came over to work on her dress for her faux queen performance at Uncle E's. She brought her friend David, who also does drag, over for us to meet. This led to the three of us sitting on the floor gluing rhinestones onto clothing, while we listened to Cher and Gaga. Lol. Then, Zury (the other Zury) came over and brought Emily with her. I've hardly had the chance to see Emily at all this semester and she was away all of last semester, so it was good to see her again. We ended our night by listening to some K-pop and then it was time for everyone to leave and me to get some extra sleep.

On Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] stellawind, [livejournal.com profile] yaexrae, Payne, and Julie all came to visit from out of town. We ran over to the costume store for various cosplay odds and ends in the afternoon and then got as much of the group together for dinner at Friday's as we could. Then it was time for the main event of the night, the monthly drag competition at Uncle E's. I actually knew a fair number of the people competing this time. (One of them was even my gender studies professor from last year.) This time Alie competed as a faux queen and she did an awesome job! She didn't end up winning, but the crowd loved her and she's going to be competing again next month. We had a huge group of people out to see both Zuryvette and Alie. I ended up sitting right in front of the stage, so throughout the course of the night I got humped by one of the drag kings and groped by one of the queens. Lol!

Sunday was a pretty quiet affair as some of the girls had to leave early in the day. The rest of us went to the Chinese food buffet at Great Wall for lunch. Then the rest of the girls from out of town needed to leave, too. The rest of the day was spent doing homework and not much else.

Hopefully, I won't have too much work to do this week. Then I can finish getting the pieces together for my Gaga outfit. The concert is a week from today! I'm really looking forward to going home for the weekend (and of course to the concert).

This weekend has been much busier than I expected it to be. It was busy in a good way though. Nicole came back early from her time at home (and she'll be going to Ohayocon with us after all!). It's good to have her back. Then there was a lot of hanging out with friends (our house was filled with a ton of people most of the weekend), several excursions to the mall, and a little bit of going out to eat.

The best part of the weekend was going out dancing at Uncle E's last night. [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn, Cat, Alie, Zuryvette, and I all decided to go. It was so much fun!  We danced for hours. We saw one of the queens that we had been talking with at the drag competition last weekend. He was out of drag and recognized us. We spent some time dancing with him, too. He was more than a little drunk, but was sweet and fierce. He told me that he loved me because I reminded him of one of his high school friends, lol. We ended up staying at the bar until closing time and I didn't get to bed until 4 AM. I can't wait until the next time we go back. I have a feeling that Uncle E's is going to become "our" bar in Bloomington because we always have a good time there (much like how Tommy Nevin's is the bar my friends and I usually go to at home).

I also finished reading Soulless, the first book in Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series. It's quite a fun read. The story involves Victorian England, steampunk, werewolves, vampires, comedy, romance, parasols, and tea. If you like any of these I would recommend reading this book. I like the main character Alexia because she's strong and has a mind of her own. I'm also quite fond of Lord Akeldama and all his fabulousness. I went out today and picked up Changeless, the second book in the series.

Now, I need to go finish a bit of homework and do some grocery shopping. I'm almost out of food. -_-;

The three day weekend is over. It was nice, even if parts of it were slightly uneventful. On Friday night, my roomies and I finished watching the last season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's such an adorable and fun show! At first I had a casual interest in it, but as the series went on it got better and better. Zuko was definitely my favorite character. Then, on Saturday night Greta and I went to anime club (after a semester of not attending very often), where we watched a couple episodes of Hayate the Combat Butler (which appears to be on large amounts of crack and contains numerous instances of fourth wall breaking) and FMA: Brotherhood (which was amazing, as always). Then we left early to pick up Cat, and made our way to meet up with everyone else at Uncle E's for the drag show and dancing. We were highly amused as the drag queens playfully harassed Alie all night, even dragging her up on stage at one point. And we even managed to get Cat out on the floor with us, though she considers herself a terrible dancer. It was a really fun time! We're thinking about going again this weekend for their dance party. The rest of the weekend was spent in relative laziness. We started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and are on the second season. It's entertaining, even if it is a bit cheesy sometimes. I have a feeling that I'll like it better once Spike shows up it gets into the later seasons.

And now I should probably think about getting some sleep, instead of playing more Persona 3. Night!

This weekend was more eventful than I had expected it to be. I invited my Japanese exchange student friend Saki over for dinner at our place. It was a fun time! She met all my roomies and Leroko. We made beef stirfry for dinner and afterwords introduced Saki to the movie The Producers. I think she enjoyed herself. Saki is such a sweetie.

Then I realized (on Friday night) that Elise and her boyfriend were going to be visiting Allison and Alyssa (here at IU) over the weekend. And I had not been personally informed of this. I found out about it via Facebook status. I texted them the next day, but didn't get any conformation of plans until Greta and I randomly ran into them at the mall. Greta and I had decided that we were unloved, since everyone else was busy that afternoon, and we decided to run away to the mall together. Halfway through our mall trip, we ran into my friends. They then told me that they had actually been planning to come see me after they went to the mall. It was nice to see them, but I was kind of miffed that they hadn't thought to let me know further ahead of time. What if I had already had plans? They would have been shit out of luck. As it was, any other plans that I had for the day were up in the air, so Greta and I took them to see the kitten and then went out for pizza at Mother Bear's with them. Later that night I slept over at [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn's place and had a mini ladies' night with her and her roommate. Much of this included Lauren and I drinking booze, while watching [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn climb the ladder to hang posters near the ceiling and shouting helpful advice to her.

I came home the next morning to find a [livejournal.com profile] yaexrae! She was in town, so she had decided to visit us for the afternoon. We ended up picking up Cat from work and doing some more shopping at the mall. I didn't actually buy anything, but some of the others were looking for cosplay accessories. We ended the day by having dinner at Steak 'n Shake with Zury. All in all, it wasn't a bad weekend.

I've also realized that I have yet to mention our current house guest. Nicole's friend Holly, from New Zealand, is currently visiting us. She's really cool. I love her accent. And even though she is a vegan who has interned with PETA, she is not crazy, as certain stereotypes would like us to believe. She's been living with us for the past week and will be here for about another two weeks. I don't mind because it's been nice having her around.

This past weekend was a bunch of fun.

After school on Friday I went over to Meghan's house. We almost hurt ourselves laughing at various anime videos on Youtube. Then we met up with everyone else to go see the school play. I saw DJ there and I got to meet his new boyfriend Chris. They are too cute together! After the play Meghan and I sped off to go get some dinner. We decided to eat at Ichiro, a local sushi place. It was the first time I'd ever had sushi. Overall it was really good! Meghan and I split a sushi platter and a big bowl of oyako udon, which was a really delicious soup with large noodles and chicken. Meghan had a good time laughing at me as I used chopsticks for the first time. The noodles were so hard to eat with the chopsticks!

On Saturday I hung out with Allison. I have lunch and gym with her this year, so we've been spending more time together. I think I've become closer with her than with some of my other friends. I like spending time with her because she's funny and easy to talk to. She also tries to understand my interests in anime and such, which isn't something all of my friends are willing to do.

Padfoot, I got your letter today! It made me smile because I wasn't expecting it. I want to write you back, but first you have to give me your new address!

This past weekend I had a three day weekend. I had some fun times and some not so fun times.

Fun times were on Saturday, when I went to Ariel's birthday party at the roller rink. I hadn't been to the roller rink in forever (probably not since I was 10)! I hadn't been skating in so long, I really wasn't very good at it. I didn't skate so well by myself, but I did good when we all made a chain and skated together. Then, after the roller rink, we went back to Ariel's house for cake and anime watching. We watched the hilarious dub of the anime Ghost Stories and laughed so hard. Saturday was just really fun!

Not so fun times were on Sunday and Monday, when Elise and I had to do our video for psychology. The video itself wasn't hard, but we had problems getting the video done. First, the video camera wasn't working right, so we had to borrow Lisa's. Then, we needed a ride to get out to film the video, since neither of us have our drivers licenses. After this project, I know I need to get my driver's license, because finding a ride was a huge pain. (I must make dad take me driving so I can get all my required hours of driving time in!) We were finally able to get a ride with Jackie. Then, we needed to find a store that would let us film inside. After a few failed attempts we ended up at Amazing Fantasy, our awesome local comic books & anime store. They were very nice and let us film all we needed to there. Overall the project was a pain in the ass, but at least we were able to get it done.

I'm really late in posting these, but here are a couple of my homecoming pictures.

This weekend was a three day weekend. I got to hang out with Ariel this Saturday. I was happy because I hardly see her at school, and we always have so much fun together.  Saturday night I went to Steak & Shake with my friends, because Jackie was working there Saturday night. We wanted to go see her. On Sunday I went to a symphonic orchestra concert that was set up by our church. The music was beautiful! Yesterday, I didn't do much. I just sat around the house.

I got a 30 on my ACT! *dances* I wasn't sure how well I did on it, but I guess I did better than I thought! Now to examine some more colleges...

Was going to go see the school musical tonight, but decided not to. I'm feeling too tired and lazy.

Tomorrow I'm going with my group of friends to spend most of the weekend at Sam's house. It should be super fun! I haven't seen Sam since Christmas break. I can't wait to party!

This past weekend was one of the best ones I've had in a while.

Satuday I went downtown with Elise, Lisa, & Allison. We had a great time goofing around and shopping. We went all around Water Tower Place. Then we went to the Hershey's Store; there was a fricking ton of chocolate there! It was awesome! We also ended up in Borders for a good hour trying to decide exactly what we wanted to buy. We practically had to drag ourselves out of the bookstore. Then we also ended up going to the American Girl Place, because Lisa had never been there and she wanted to go (I swear, we're not 7 years old anymore). For dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory. I got chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake. It was soo good! The Cheesecake Factory has the best cheesecake ever! We got to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Lisa there, too.

Sunday, Lisa & I did finally get to go see Brokeback Mountain. I loved it! It has to be one of the best movies I've seen in a while! It made me actually cry, something that few movies do (my eyes may get all watery, but normally I don't actually cry). Lisa & I are talking about going to go see it again.
