I got word from Alie this afternoon that our little Leroko had to be put to sleep. Shortly after the school year ended she started developing symptoms of FIP. Her health kept deteriorating, so Alie did the kind thing and put her to sleep so she wouldn't have to suffer anymore. She was Alie's cat, but I lived with her for the whole school year, so it was like she was our cat. I'll miss that goofy little kitten. She was only a year old, but she got a lot of love in her short little life.

Goodbye, baby cat. <3

Today I realized that I'll be leaving for Japan in a month! I am simultaneously very excited and somewhat nervous. I'm nervous because I have so much stuff to do before I go. There's a ton of stuff that I need to do in preparation for leaving. I'm trying not to think too much about that right now because if I do it's going to make me even more nervous. ^_^;

Sky seems to be doing much better now. For the past couple days he's been acting a lot more like himself. I hope that means that his back is healing well and that it won't give him any problems later on.

I'm looking forward to this weekend! Saturday is my graduation party, so I'll get to see a bunch of my friends and family. Some of my friends from IU are even coming to visit ([livejournal.com profile] stellawind, Greta, Nicole, and Zuryvette are arriving tomorrow)! Then, on Sunday I'm going with some of my friends to Chicago Pride~ Yay!

I've got a bit to write about, so I'll start at the end of last week.

I had the house to myself on Thursday and Friday because my parents had to take Adam to his college orientation. I always love having the house to myself during the day (I get slightly nervous about it at night, but it's not that big of a deal). I basically camp out on the couch in the family room with my laptop or a book. I also listen to music loudly on the sound system and dance around. Pretty much all I did for those two days last week was watch K-pop videos on Youtube (K-pop fandom is so new and shiny to me right now~). ^_^;

Saturday was my cousin Travis's wedding to his girlfriend, Melissa. The whole thing was nice and I don't normally mind weddings, but I just felt kind of awkward at the reception. The wedding was on my mom's side of the family, which I'm not quite as fond of. I'm not that close to many of them (with the exception of my cousin Tami and her family). Tami was in the wedding party and kind of busy, so I didn't really have that many people to hang out with. I danced around with Hayden (my godson) for a bit before he got too tired, but other than that I just kind of stood around with Adam. I was glad when the evening was over.

I felt so bad yesterday. I picked my dog, Sky, up like usual and he yelped really loudly. Afterwords, he kept whining and shaking like he was hurting, especially if anyone tried to touch his lower back. Mom said that she had noticed him acting more subdued earlier that morning and that it must have been because something was wrong. We were really worried, so I held Sky in the car while Mom drove over to the emergency vet. It turns out that Sky has a back problem. We think he might have hurt himself jumping off of the furniture because he's such a hyper little dog. The vet gave him some anti-inflammatory and pain medication. We're supposed to try and keep him fairly quiet for the next week and to take him back to the vet if he doesn't seen better once the medication is gone. So far it seems like the meds are helping. Sky was very subdued yesterday, but he does seem a bit more lively today. I hope my baby will be okay.

This week it is time to start Cleaning All The Things. My (and Adam's) graduation party is this weekend, so Mom is having us clean the house from top to bottom. It's got to be done by Friday, when Greta, Nicole, and Zuryvette are supposed to arrive. I think I'm going to go have lunch and then start cleaning. :P
