I finished reading the last chapter of Fullmetal Alchemist tonight.
Oh my god, I can't believe it's over. It made me cry, but it was wonderful! I'm quite pleased with the way that everything was wrapped up. I cried with joy when Ed and Al were reunited and Al had his body back. I cried when Hohenheim died. I was so happy that Roy was able to regain his sight. I was also happy when Ling told Mei he would protect her family as emperor and when Scar was asked to help out in Ishbal. I cried more happy tears when Ed and Al arrived at the Rockbell's. I loved the scene with Ed fixing the roof by hand. I loved how Ed chose to keep his automail leg as a reminder of what happened. I even thought the scene with Ed and Winry was cute, even though I still can't bring myself to ship them. And I loved everything on these pages, the pictures and the text. It made me cry. Again. I wish it wasn't over, but the ending was lovely.
Thank you for an amazing series Hiromu Arakawa. Fullmetal Alchemist has been my favorite series for a long time and I predict that it will continue to be my favorite for a long time to come. <3
A lesson without pain is meaningless. For you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return. But, once you have overcome it and made it your own...you will gain an irreplaceable fullmetal heart.
