Last night was such a good time! Alex was nice enough to invite me along with DJ and Chris to her family's beach house. The house is located at the Indiana Dunes, so we drove up there late yesterday afternoon. A few of Alex's other friends, her boyfriend, and her awesome mom, Tyra, were also there. It takes me a bit to feel comfortable around new people, but it's now gotten to a point where I've hung out with them a few times and I'm starting to feel more at ease around them. They're a bunch of fun and sweet people. The house was quite nice, too. It's kind of old, but light and beach-y. It's a large house, but it's split into a bunch of small rooms, so it still feels cozy. It's also not even a minute's walk from the actual beach. Shortly after we arrived, all of us went down to the beach and tried to watch the sunset. Sadly, it was a bit too cloudy for a really nice looking sunset, but the beach was still very relaxing. We returned to the house to grill some burgers and also brought out some booze. It was nice because we all had a bit, so we were relaxed and giggly, but no one drank to levels of stupidity. It was Alex's first time drinking, so she was a bit nervous, but she ended up being just fine. We also played a game of Circle of Death and Tyra even joined us (XD). It was all pretty amusing. We meant to turn in for the night afterwords, but half of us ended up staying up pretty late. DJ and I ended up giving advice to a few of the others because they're a couple years younger than us and we had already gone through some of the things they're currently going through. Oddly, enough the same half of the group that stayed up late was also awake surprisingly early the next morning. We spent time talking with Tyra, while we waited for everyone else to get up. Once they were awake, we all crowded in the adorable little kitchen while Tyra made us raspberry pancakes. DJ, Chris, and I had to leave shortly after that. The whole time just put me in a very good mood for today.

I'm going to go wake myself up a bit with a cup of tea. Though I'm not quite as tired as I would have thought with the lack of sleep I've had the past couple nights.

Here's the entry about my fun weekend.

Friday night I met up with Meghan, Leyla, and Leyla's friend Shauna for bowling. Of course, we all sucked horribly at it, but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. Then we went and got ice cream at the Creamery, and sat and listened to Leyla tell stories about her Crazy Turkish Family. I really should find more time to hang out with Leyla before I leave for school.

Saturday was the long awaited trip to the beach with most of my friends. We went to the Indiana Dunes. For a little while it looked like it was going to be cloudy and rainy, but the weather cleared up nicely. We spent the afternoon just relaxing on the beach. We also built a nice little sandcastle. The water was quite cold, so I only did a little bit of wading. Unfortunately, my legs got sunburnt. The worst part was the back of my legs and my upper thighs. Today is the first day that they've felt better.

Saturday night, after we arrived back from the beach, we ate at Denny's. Then, it was time to camp out in Alyssa's backyard. We slept in her family's pop-up camper. There was just barely enough room for all seven of us to sleep in there. While in the camper, we decided to have an aloe applying party because most of us were sunburnt in one place or another. This ended with most of us in various states of dress (in order to actually apply the aloe to the areas that were badly burned), and I may or may not have been convinced to go skinny dipping with some of the others in Alyssa's pool. Lol. Then, I got to sleep smooshed between Elise and DJ.

And now, off to catch up with the new FMA episodes. Either that, or go to sleep. I'm feeling a bit tired.

Yesterday I spent the day at the Dunes with my friends. We drove up in two different cars. In Jessie's car we spent the trip up listening to Beatles tapes. It'd been forever since I'd been to the beach. It was a good time, even though it was so hot. The sand was really hot; it hurt to walk on. The water was nice and cold, so we kept running back and forth between the water and the beach. The only thing I don't like like about going to the beach is the sand. It stuck everywhere. I took a shower right away when I got home because I was full of it.
