I finally got my hands on a copy of Dragon Soul this past weekend! I finished reading it the other day, so here are my thoughts.
I really enjoyed Dragon Soul. It was great to see more of Rook and Thom. I had missed them in Shadow Magic. I really liked seeing how they learned to become brothers in this book. It was also interesting to have some female narrators this time around. I didn't get real attached to either of them, but I liked them as characters nonetheless. I liked Madoka's spirit and I was surprised by Malahide. I wasn't expecting her to be trans, but I enjoyed it. I support Kalim/Malahide, cause Kalim is one sexy desert prince. I liked the storyline of this book, too (even though it took me a bit to realize that it was running concurrent with Shadow Magic and not after Mamoru took the throne). I was sad that Rook couldn't truly be reunited with Havemercy though. I loved the scene when Have took over Madoka's body, and Rook called Have 'baby girl'. *squeeble* I'm gonna miss Havemercy. I think that without her, Rook's just going to keep traveling with Thom. I really want to read more about their awesome adventures. I really do hope there's going to be more books in the series.
I'm excited because tomorrow I'm going to Miyavi's Chicago concert! I get to get up at the crack of dawn to wait in line all day, but it should be worth it. I can't wait to see him again~
