Now to report on Thursday's amazing Adam Lambert concert!

I got up early on Thursday morning, so I could glam up a bit. I had decided that if I was going to an Adam concert, I was gonna do it the right way. I was happy with the end result. I ended up putting together an outfit with my black Algonquins vest (that I had gotten in Japan), actually spent time doing my make-up, and put on some subtly sparkly glitter lotion. Then, [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn picked me up and we were off to the Horseshoe Casino for the show. It was general admission and we wanted to get there early to get a good spot in line.

By the time we got to the casino (a bit before noon), there were forty people ahead of us in line. The Glamberts had, in a rather smart moment, decided to create a list for people to sign once they got in line. They would then write what number person in line you were on your hand, so that those of us waiting in line all afternoon could get in and out of line without fear of losing our spots. The idea ended up working pretty well for those of us who had gotten there early. Also, as soon as Sara and I arrived, we were conviced that we were the youngest ones in line. I mean it was a 21+ show, but at that point there was no one else our age there. The line was also mostly made up of moms and middle aged women. There eventually ended up being more people around our age at the concert, but at least a good half the crowd was older women. It was also nice to see that a small portion of guys attended the concert, as well. One of the only things that I did in line was people watch. It was a long afternoon, but not bad at all as far as line waits go because we were waiting inside, in air conditioning. We could pop in and out of line if we needed to. Sara and I also had a bag of food with us to munch on all afternoon.

My attempt to take a picture of us in line.

The guy behind us in line saw our previous attempt to take a picture, so he offered to take one for us. He was cool because was actually there with his wife because he genuinely liked Adam and his music.

By the time the venue started moving the line up to the doors we were pretty impatient, but it was still another half an hour until they let us inside. Somehow Sara and I miraculously were able to get a spot in the second row of people from the stage, almost right in the center! We were so pumped up, but there was still another hour before the opening act was supposed to hit the stage. We spent the time chatting with the nice older women in front of us and the gay guys behind us. Sara also worked on her crossword puzzle, while the crowd around us tried to help her complete it. We also read the messages that people were texting that appeared on the giant screens on either side of the stage. (It was getting pretty snippy for a while, with younger members of the crowd texting some not so nice things about older members of the crowd and the older members firing back.) Then it was time for Orianthi, the opening act. She was super cute and could play a mean guitar, but because we were infront of one of the guitar speakers, and her vocals weren't really strong, we couldn't hear her singing very well. By the end of her set, I was pretty impatient for Adam's set to start.

The lights went down and an awesome funky remix of  "For Your Entertainment" started playing. All of us started singing along in the crowd. When it was over, Adam finally took the stage! And take it he did. Omg, he appeared in full on Glam Hatter get up, with barefeet and rhinestones on his face, and made his way to the front of the stage, standing right in front of us. It was an incredibly surreal moment, seeing this gorgeous man that I've been fangirling for a year, standing right in front of me singing his heart out. He opened up with a medley of "Voodoo", "Down the Rabbit Hole", and "Ring of Fire". Right away, I was singing along and dancing all over the place. The Glam Hatter get-up didn't last long as he switched it out for a couple different outfits, with some pretty awesome jackets. Throughout the whole show, I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He has such a powerful stage presence, with such a gorgeous voice, and very sexy dance moves. The boy knows that everyone is looking at him and he works it. He also makes a lot of eye contact with the audience, which is very nice. We definitely had eye contact with him in the front rows. He also has his srs rockstar moments, and then all the sudden he'll just be having so much fun that he'll break out into a smile and his face just lights up. It's completely adorable to see.

Adam in his Glam Hatter get up, while he was singing "Voodoo". He was so glittery~

During "Ring of Fire". I know this because of the ring of fire in the background.

He's so pretty.

You can see one of his barefeet!

During "Strut", when the pimp cane was brought out.

Adam performed most of his songs, which of course meant that I got to hear all of my favorites, like "Fever", "Surefire Winners", "Strut", and "If I Had You". I loved it when he and his dancers danced around with the pimp canes during "Strut". It's also no secret that I like it when Adam gets flirty with Tommy, his bass player. Tommy is just so small and adorable, especially compared to how tall Adam is. Out of all the slower songs, my favorite is "Sleepwalker". The show started off high energy, then there was a small and lovely acoustic set in the middle, and then it was back to more high energy songs. The show ended with "If I Had You", complete with rainbow laser lights spectacular. Of course, we were so hyped up that Adam came back for an encore. We were just waiting in the audience to see if the encore would be "Mad World" or the acoustic version of "Whole Lotta Love". Adam came out and did "Mad World", which was great, but I was slightly disappointed because I really wanted to hear "Whole Lotta Love". Then, Adam surprised the audience by launching into "Whole Lotta Love" as well! Hot damn, he does a slow and sexy version of that song. Then, it was sadly time for the show to end and for us to bid goodbye to Adam.

Sara and I stopped by the merch table and then spent a bit of time exploring the casino. I got a pic of her playing one of the Star Trek slot machines. Then we decided to make our way out, but ended up going out the wrong entrance of the main casino. This ended up being okay though because Tommy and Monte (Adam's bass player and guitar player) were in the lobby area! They were being nice enough to take pictures with the fans, so I figured why not.

Sara playing the rather confusing Star Trek slot machine.

Me and Tommy. He's so adorably small. I'm pretty sure the only reason he was taller than me in this picture it that he was wearing his platfrom shoes from the concert.

Me with Monte, who was a pretty great guitar player during the concert.

Then we actually did leave the casino. In the car we blasted Adam's CD and sang along, while we danced in our seats. This energy only lasted for part of the car ride though. A couple hours later, after one wrong way and an hour in agonizingly slow traffic due to road constuction, we were getting pretty tired. There was a point of amusement when we realized that the truck we were stuck behind in the traffic was actually carrying a bunch of beehives, held down by netting, and we could see the bees swarming inside (COVERED IN BEES). When we finally got back near my house, we were starving so we stopped for food at Denny's. We finally got back to my house around 2 AM.

All in all, it was a great day! This was definitely one of the most fun concerts that I have been to. I couldn't have stopped singing and dancing along if I had tried. The only complaint I had was that the concert went by too fast. I didn't want it to be over! Really, Adam is so precious that I just want to keep him forever.

I've never listened to any of his songs, what genre would he be?

And the line number thing is a good idea, can you imagine going to take a piss than having to get to the back?

His music tends to be a mixture of pop, rock, and dance songs. I really enjoy putting his CD on and dancing around to it in my room, lol.

The line numbers were great. Having to go back to the end of the line would have sucked.

guh. Him and Tommy are so damn cute. Anyway, glad you had a good time. Concerts are a lot of fun, but it always helps if you're a total fangirl ^.^

Aren't they? I love them~

Haha, I was such a fangirl that night. It was okay though because everyone around us was behaving the same way. XD

He is pretty fabulous. XD

He was the runner-up on last year's American Idol competition, but many people felt that he should have been the winner instead.
