Here's my concert report for last night's Adam Lambert concert in Indy~

I couldn't wait to get done with my classes for the day. As soon as I got home, it was time to begin the glamification process. Alie and I got all dressed up. She put on her new cupcake dress (as she likes to call it) and I re-vamped what I wore to the last concert. I wore the same awesome vest and skinny jeans, but this time added some fingerless leather gloves and my black platform boots. Alie helped me do my make-up, which included lots of eyeliner and bright blue glittery eyeshadow. I added my colorful feather earrings and some roll on glitter (left over from middle school) to complete the outfit and then we were ready to go. We picked up [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn and hit the road. She hadn't had time to glitter up yet, so we eventually stopped at a McDonald's along the highway so she could change there. We definitely got some stares as we entered (and exited) the restaurant. We quickly fauxhawked [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn's hair, did her make-up and then we were really on our way.

Upon arriving at Butler University, cause the concert was at the auditorium there, we met up with [livejournal.com profile] stellawind. She had packed us a nice bento box dinner, so we found a spot to picnic. I'm sure it was pretty funny to see us sitting there all glammed up, picnicking, while all of the regular college students walked by. The food was quite good and [livejournal.com profile] stellawind even brought some wine for us to drink.

Here's our yummy food. I wish I'd actually taken more pictures of our ridiculous glam picnic.

We then packed up our picnic, stashed our stuff, and headed inside. We did glitter/make-up touch ups while waiting in the merch line. I bought one of the newer small posters, the one where Adam's wearing the feathers. Then [livejournal.com profile] stellawind and I parted ways with [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn and Alie. Sadly, we couldn't sit with them because they bought their tickets fairly last minute. [livejournal.com profile] stellawind and I were in row J on the right side. Not as good of a view as being right up front at the last concert, but it was still a pretty nice view nonetheless.

Allison Iraheta was the opening act. I hadn't gotten to see her last time at Hammond because the show was at the casino and Allison was too young to perform there. I hadn't really listened to any of her music beforehand, but I enjoyed her set a lot! I definitely preferred her set to Orianthi's set at the previous concert. Both girls can rock, but I feel that Orianthi is a much better guitarist than she is singer. Allison's singing is pretty awesome. I'd like to check out some of her music.

In the wait between Allison's set and Adam's set the concert somehow turned into a dance party. I've never seen that many people up and dancing at a concert before it even started! I even saw people all the way up in the third balcony dancing. We could see some of Adam's staff watching us from the stage. It was clear that everyone was pretty excited for the concert to start. There was also a camera crew there that night to tape the show. Apparently they were filming it for VEVO. I want to see the footage!

Then it was finally time for Adam to take the stage! The "For Your Entertainment" mix started looping around a second time, so I'm guessing things weren't quite in place like they were supposed to be the first time it ended. It wasn't long before whatever was going on was fixed though and Adam finally appeared. I swear, that moment where he takes the stage during "Voodoo" is magical every time. I could tell right away that Adam was really pumped for the show. He was on fire all night! I knew it was going to be an extra awesome show from the moment he called us "motherfuckers", lol. I was proved right when Adam laid a kiss on Tommy during "Fever". That made the fangirl in me quite happy. I also loved "Soaked". I think Adam's vocals were extra gorgeous in it. When Adam paused before launching into the final lines of the song, the crowd went crazy. I swear he had to wait for a minute for the applause to die down before he could finish the song. You could just see him up there, taking in all of our love. Then, when he launched into "Aftermath" I got pretty emotional. This past week had been full of so much shit and it just reminded me that I could get through it. It was an emotionally healing moment for me. Being at the show was the happiest I'd been since everything happened last week. I enjoyed every moment of it. The awesome levels continued to rise as the show went on and then it was eventually time for the band intro. I once again had my fangirl moment when Adam started suggestively jacking off Tommy's bass during his solo. Damn, those boys are so sexy and cute! I also always love how much energy there is by the end of "If I Had You", when the whole audience is singing along. We'd been so energetic all night and Adam had so much energy, so I was hopeful that we'd get "Twentieth Century Boy" as the encore song and we did! I love that song, so I was super excited when I found out that Adam was covering it. It was great to finally hear it live. I loved watching his interactions with Tommy and with Monte while he rocked out. And damn. When Adam writhed around on the floor at the end. How is he so flexible? He is amazing. *_*

I was sad that the show was over, but we were on a mission. As soon as the encore was over, we quickly made our way out to the back by the buses. There were maybe two dozen other people there when we got there. At first security tried to get us all to line up in a single file line straight back, but then as more people arrived they gave up and let us stand up against the barrier. We weren't directly at the front, but a row or so behind the front. We waited around for a while before anyone came out. We saw the band and the dancers go into the buses before Adam finally came out. This is where my platform boots definitely worked to my advantage. I was tall enough to see Adam properly, get some pictures, and get and autograph as he made his way down the line! I couldn't believe he was right in front of me! He's so pretty, even more so up close. He signed the poster I had bought earlier and [livejournal.com profile] stellawind got her FYE CD signed. Adam is such a sweetheart. Even more so than the autograph, I'm just happy that I was able to see him that close. As we were getting ready to leave, Tommy came over to the barrier. I was okay with us leaving though because we were all tired and I had already met Tommy and Monte at Hammond.

Here's Adam signing autographs!

And one more!

Here's my autograph!

(Not going to bother posting my pics from the actual concert, as they're fairly crappy quality. My digital camera is ancient and doesn't do very well with concert lighting. The only reason I was able to get some good pics at the last concert was because I was so close to the stage.)

We sadly had to part ways with[livejournal.com profile] stellawind. It was so good to see her though! I miss having her around. The rest of us hit the road. We were stuck listening to the radio because our car (we had to borrow Nicole's car because Alie's was in the shop) only had a cassette player, but we were able to request "If I Had You" on the radio, so we at least had a little Adam to listen to in the car. When we arrived back at IU, we dropped [livejournal.com profile] immelmanturn off because she was tired. Alie and I were starving, so we made our way over to Denny's for food while we lamented the state of our make-up (as it had gone all smudgy). By the time we arrived home, it was about 2 AM. I took a shower to scrub off all the sweat and the pound of glitter that I was wearing. I hung my newly autographed Adam poster on my wall and then went to bed around 3 AM. I had to be up at 8 in the morning to get ready for classes. I swear, I felt like I had a glam hangover all day. Everything was worth it though.

Last night was an amazing time! I'm so glad that [livejournal.com profile] stellawind and I initially decided to go. It also ended up saving my sanity this week and giving me a moment of happy before I need to go home for sad things this weekend. So, thanks to Adam for giving me that happiness. It really means a lot to me.
