Mar. 5th, 2012 10:21 pmI was excited this weekend because Greta (Fearless Leader of Kotobukigumi) arrived in Japan! I met up with her and Leslie after work on Friday. We ended up getting dinner at Sukiya and then we went back to Leslie's place. I wasn't originally going to stay the night, but it was cold and rainy and I didn't feel like walking all the way back to the train station, so I ended up sleeping over. The next day we walked to Akiba (because it's close enough to walk to from Leslie's apartment). We had tonkatsu for lunch and browsed around the usual anime shops. On Sunday we met up again and went to Ikebukuro, like the good old days in IES. Anna joined us on Sunday, too. We did a bit of shopping, ate at 80+1 (because we needed to show Greta our new cafe), and did purikura. It's nice to have Greta back in Japan. I'm looking forward to more Kotobukigumi adventures~
Work has been really slow recently, since the kids have finished their exams and I'm not teaching any classes. I won't be teaching any classes again until the new school year starts in April, so that leaves me with a lot of free time. Free time isn't a bad thing, it just makes the days pass really slowly. I bring stuff to do, like my Kindle and Japanese books to study, but the days still seem really long. There's not much that I can do about it though. I'm hoping that I'll be able to talk with some of the (different) teachers that I'll be teaching with in the new school year, so I can see if there's anything that I'll be able to get a head start on. It looks like I'm probably going to be starting an English club during the new school year, but there's only so much that I can do to prepare for that at the moment, too. I'd rather be teaching classes than sitting around doing nothing all day.
