I spent the day at Allison's house yesterday (with Sam, Jackie, Elise, Lisa, & Alyssa). We spent almost the whole time taking care of kittens! Allison is fostering some 5-week-old kittens for PAWS. There are five little black kittens. They are so cute, but they sure are a handful to take care of. They run everywhere and try to climb up everything with their little tiny claws. I have little scratches all over my hands. They also try to follow Allison's dog around. Her dog tries to clean the kittens and mother them. It's so cute!

All of the kittens are healthy, except for one. The littlest one has a problem with one of his back legs and he can barely stand. He's so sweet though and he's the cutest of all the kittens. All he does is lay with you and cuddle! Elise is so attached to this little kitten. Now Elise isn't the kind of person to openly admit affections, but you can tell she loves this little guy. She always holds him and talks to him. And the kitten needs practice standing and walking, so Elise sits on the floor and cheers him on while he tires to walk. Seeing her with this cat is amusing, because you don't expect her to act like she cares that much. If the kitten can't learn to walk PAWS might try to put him down. They say people won't want to adopt a kitten that can't walk and life would be better for him that way. I hope he'll be okay.

After Sam & Jackie left we had to help Allison take the kittens to PAWS for their shots. It turned out that they were still a bit under-weight so they couldn't get the shots. Instead they decided to de-worm the kittens. That involves giving each one this green chalky medicine, which got everywhere when they were trying to force feed it to the kittens. It was all over the kittens' fur, so when we got back to Allison's we helped her give the kittens a bath. Of course, the kittens were not too happy about that. They flailed around and cried. After all that we let the kittens go take a nap. Then we flopped on the couch because we were tired, too!
