I've been dealing with homesickness fairly well ever since of come back to Japan, but I definitely feel homesick today. I'll be celebrating a belated Thanksgiving with Leslie and Anna on Saturday, but it feels a bit lonely and sad to not be doing anything actually on Thanksgiving. To cheer myself up, I let myself indulge a bit tonight by getting some nice sushi at the grocery store and an apple pastry from Vie de France on my way home from work. It was good, but definitely not the same as a home-cooked American Thanksgiving dinner with my family.

Despite the current bout of homesickness, I'm thankful to be back in Japan this Thanksgiving. It's still amazing to me when I think about how I'm actually living and working in a foreign country. I'm definitely thankful for this opportunity.
