So, basically, ACen was fantastic! (I'm going to be posting this in two parts because of the large amount of images.)

It was a bit of a different experience this year, going with six other people, instead of just one other person. We arrived at the con a little after it opened on Friday morning. We got lucky enough to get a room in the Hyatt this year, right at the center of the con action. It took a few hours, but all the members of our group were able to meet up. Except for poor Kala, who got stuck in the pre-reg line for about 8 hours. I felt bad about that, but she did eventually make it to us later in the day. And then (long story short) Kevin ended up having to leave the con Friday afternoon. It was unfortunate. But, the six of us girls still had a lot of fun!

Friday was the day we had our small Gundam 00 group. I was Tieria,

yangwarrior was Lockon, and

suissecheeze was Allelujah/Hallelujah. Our costumes weren't quite as accurate as I had originally hoped for (like I wanted to cut my wig a little shorter, but was terrified that I was going to fuck it up), but we still had a lot of fun in them. I enjoyed being able to tell eveyone they were unfit to be Gundam Meisters. We were sad that we didn't have a Setsuna and attempted to look for one, but our efforts were not successful. I really enjoyed cosplaying the Meisters, even though not many people recognized us. The few who did recognize us were really excited though. As for the rest of the group,

stellawind was dressed as Shion from Higurashi (I somehow unfortunately managed to not get any pictures of her in this costume) and Kala was Konan from Akatsuki.

A good part of Friday was spent shopping around in the dealers room. I got some awesome stuff, like Lockon and Tieria figures, the new An Cafe CD, and a Gurren Brigade shirt. Kevin had to leave, but then Kala finally made it through the line. Us Meisters and Kala broke off from the rest off the group to go to Quinton Flynn and Jeff Nimoy's autograph session.

immelmanturn: I gave Quinton the duck! He thanked me for passing it along to him. I explained who it was from and he said that he definitely remembered you guys. He didn't read the card at that time, so I don't know what his reaction to that was. I wish I could have gotten a picture of him with the duck, but I didn't think about it at the time.

I was really excited to meet Quinton, mostly because of my obsession with Axel from Kingdom Hearts! I had him sign vol. 2 of my Kingdom Hearts 2 manga. He was a really nice guy.

I also got to meet Jeff Nimoy. It was pretty cool to meet him as well. I got his autograph and he told me I had a nice smile!

After that we went and had our own mini Gundam 00 photoshoot.

yangwarrior, and I went to the Underground Groove, one of ACen's yearly dances. It was smaller than the Soap Bubble (ACen's rave that goes on all night Saturday night), but it was still fun. I prefer the Soap Bubble out of the two dances though.
