Dec. 28th, 2010 10:49 amMy wisdom teeth were removed yesterday. I was obviously not looking forward to the procedure, but was doing okay enough until they sat me down in the room. Then they started connecting me to wires and monitors and I had to try hard not to start freaking out. It was a bit better once they gave me the laughing gas though because then my mind started to wander. Not sure how much of this I can blame on the drugs, but I seem to remember that my mind came up with the crew of the original Enterprise meeting Adam Lambert, leader of the planet Fierce. Adam was even dressed in his outfit from the Zodiac Show. (Why has nobody written this fic yet?) And then I was given the IV full of whatever stuff they used to knock me out. And the next thing I remember was it being done and Dad helping me walk to the car.
I took a nap for a while when I got home, and then I spent the rest of the day watching movies (like Sherlock Holmes, Lilo & Stitch, and Inception). My mouth hurts, but maybe not quite as badly as I expected it to. I've been alternating using an ice pack on both sides of my face, as it helps numb any discomfort I'm feeling. I was given a prescription for Vicodin, but the pain hasn't been bad enough that I've had to use it. It's been more like a dull ache. I've been taking Tylenol instead, which I'm glad about because I'm not sure that my body would really like the Vicodin (as even taking ibuprofen makes my stomach upset). I'm pretty hungry because I've only been eating soft foods, like pudding and apple sauce. Maybe today I can try to eat something a little less liquid. That would be nice.
