Are you ready to rock?

I finally have enough time to post my concert report. On Monday night I went to a Miyavi concert! It was amazing~!

As soon as I found out I was going to be in Japan, I knew I had to go to at least one concert while I was there. So I jumped at the chance to go see Miyavi. I ordered my ticket online over the summer, through an international ticket order. And this wasn't just any Miyavi concert. It was Miyavi's birthday concert, the start of his 2nd world tour, one of his first big concerts since starting his own company, the opening of his new fanclub, and his first concert since the birth of his daughter. So I was super happy that I would be able to go~.

The concert was held in Shibuya, at C.C. Lemon Hall. I got there a couple hours before the doors opened. As soon as I arrived I went and bought my concert merchandise. I got the concert shirt, bag, and tour booklet for myself, as well as a present for Meghan. The tour booklet folds out accordion style and has some gorgeous pictures in it. After getting merch, I mostly sat around and people watched. I loved seeing all the Miyavi cosplayers there!

I was able to pick up my ticket right around the time they opened the doors to the building, which was at 6. There were about a dozen or so of us gaijin (foreigners) at the box office waiting to pick up tickets. I met [livejournal.com profile] ashura_oh while waiting in line for my ticket. We were both at the concert by ourselves and it just so happened that our seats were next to each other. It was great to talk with her!

We went into the venue and as soon as you entered you could see all the large flower bouquets that had been sent to Miyavi. I definitely saw ones from Gackt and Sugizo, as well as some from some J-rock magazines and fashion brands. We made our way to our seats. As it turned out, all the tickets from the international ticket sale were from the same couple rows of seats. We started joking about being in the gaijin row, lol. The seats were actually pretty great though. We were on the 1st floor, in the 15th row, a little left of center. There was an aisle in front of our seats, so we had a lot of space and there wasn't anyone directly in front of us. We had a nice view of the whole stage. And, when Miyavi walked out to the end of the runway that was attached to the stage he was about 4 rows away from us~.

Then it was concert time! The lights went down and the intro music started playing. Everyone started looking everywhere, wondering how Miyavi would choose to make his entrance. He sneakily crept up on stage. His movements were almost robotic. It was really cool. MYV had a new band and dancers for this tour. The dancers had some super awesome robot type moves and Miyavi was right up there dancing along with them. He's a really good dancer!

Miyavi puts on a great show. He's so confident on stage. He knows that everyone's eyes are on him and he really plays it up. I loved watching him dancing around and jamming on his guitar. He had me on my feet for the whole concert. I had so much fun jumping around. All I could think about was how much I adored him. I think I almost died everytime he came to the end of the runway, lol. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing MYV that close. I think he may have noticed us crazy gaijin jumping around at least once or twice. XD

The song order is really a blur for me. Everything was so awesome though. MYV sang a gorgeous piano version of "Coo Quack Cluck". It was really emotional. It was sweet when Miyavi sang "We Love You" and he had us all hold hands while swaying back and forth. I also loved the faster paced songs. "Shouri no V-Rock" was a lot of fun, with everyone swinging their MYV towels in the air. I also loved it when Miyavi played "Super Hero"! It was so awesome to hear it live!

During the encore, Miyavi was about to launch into playing "Sakihokoru hana no you ni" when, much to his surprise, his band started playing "Happy Birthday" instead. Then Noriko appeared on stage to give Miyavi a guitar shaped cake. The candles on the cake kept blowing out and one of the dancers had to keep sneaking back on stage to light them, lol. We all got to sing "Happy Birthday" to MYV. Then Noriko announced that they had some birthday messages for Miyavi. They played them on a large video screen. One of them was from Gackt! I was so excited! I could hardly understand what he said because of all the squealing, but I didn't even care because it was Gackt. I think it's so adorable that Miyavi considers Gackt to be like an older brother.

I just wish that I could have understood all of the Japanese a little better. I know MYV was saying some really important heartfelt things about striking out on his own, being the president of a new company and being a new dad. It's been a hard time for him. But, I could tell that he's grown up a lot within these past couple years. He's really become an amazing person and I admire his strength. That's why I wish that I could have had a better idea of everything he was saying.

I didn't want the concert to end. At the very end of the show Miyavi introduced his new band and dancers. Then he said goodbye and took his leave from the stage. After that a screen came down and a video was played that announced the dates for MYV's upcoming 2nd world tour. There were a even a couple of tentative U.S. concert dates listed~. The video also showed that there's going to be a new single and DVD out in 2010! Yay!

I'm so glad that I was able to go to the concert. It was so amazing. MYV, I love you~! ♥ Thanks for the great time.
